At Harrow Shanghai, our Scholarships focus on academic achievements and also on helping every student discover and cultivate their unique qualities. We are looking for students who have a distinct passion for learning and a desire to showcase their talents. Our 2024 Scholarships Programme is ongoing right now. We invite students entering Years 9 to 12 (ages 13-16) next year at Harrow Shanghai to apply.
We interviewed three scholarship winners from last year at Harrow Shanghai, aiming to reveal the true value of our scholarship programme and the exceptional educational environment at Harrow.
What can you expect from Harrow Scholarships?
“The scholarship was and is a source of motivation for me to uphold the prestige for both myself and the school by furthering my knowledge, while also disseminating said knowledge to others. It will also aid me on my university application process, hopefully assisting me in my journey to my dream university.”
Skye S
“The Harrow Scholarship stimulated me to dive deeper into the things I have been doing, which was swimming in this case. I always told myself that finishing an event with an exceptional result wasn’t all, and I also have to account for the techniques behind it. Consistently practicing those techniques and developing my strength can form a more efficient approach to a problem and therefore achieving better results. What’s more, it made me more active because I knew my peers and teachers are starting to notice me.”
Oscar L
“It is a sign of recognition of your hard work and could motivate you to continue to push yourself and work hard. It encouraged me to further develop my knowledge and learn harder.”

Why Harrow?
“Harrow has helped me through some of the most important phases of my education life, with the teachers that have taught me throughout the years all being knowledgeable in their fields and effective and entertaining in their lessons. Harrow has also helped me challenge my knowledge by providing opportunities like competitions.”
Skye S
“There were Harrow’s four core values: humility, fellowship, courage, and honor. Consisting of those values would make me feel I fitted into this community. I’d like to highlight the value of courage, because accepting challenges and taking failures as a sign to improve have shaped my current self esteem, which has helped me to thrive in my studies and other activities.”
Oscar L
“I felt Harrow taught me a lot, all the knowledge I have now was taught to me by my teachers and I made a lot of good friends in Harrow.”

Application Tips from Harrow Scholarship Recipients!
“For pupils pursuing the Harrow Scholarship, I recommend that you should have a passionate interest in a field of studies (from a specific subject to broad academic fields to sports), and find ways in which you can help others indulge in the joys of that activity”
Skye S.
“The nature of Harrow Scholarship, after all, was a recognition of your quality, not a mere achievement. Some people might think that they can stop or become lazy after attaining this scholarship, considering it as a tasks, something ‘finished’. However, its purpose was to make you keep doing what you are passionate about, and accomplishing more, and perhaps contributing to the world around you.”
Oscar L
“You have to be hardworking and have something that makes you stand out. It is a sign of recognition to you and when you get it, it’ll make you very happy and push you to do more for the school.”
