On the 14th May 2021 Harrow hosted our annual International Day. Our international community at Harrow teaches us tolerance and understanding, and prepares our students to enter a diverse and international future.
Our students, parents and staff got dressed up and were immersed with joy of experiencing cultures of different countries. Let us review the wonderful moments of the day with a lovely video and photos!
We tried delicious food from different countries provided by parents such as Chinese dumplings, Japanese sushi, South African milk tart, New Zealand kiwi cookies and Mexican Tacos to name a few tasty morsels.
Teachers and students decorated stalls providing enriching and educational activities such as the Irish ‘Wellie throwing competition’, the South African ‘Lolly Pong’, Indian rangoli pattern, Aboriginal art work, Nigerian jewellery making, Korean musical instrument and making Northern Lights in a jar from Iceland.
The day culminated in an international ensemble of Argentine Tango, Japanese drums, French singing and a Canadian Stomp.
The finale was the grand raffle draw with some amazing prizes including a cuddly bear taller than the student who won it. Our Harrow community raised a significant amount of money which will go to: Heart to Heart, Second Chance Animal Aid and Home Sweet Home.
A big thank you to all the parents, staff and students who have supported this event.
